Volusia, v., Leigh Read co., Flor. Situated on the n. e. side of
St. John's r., 6 ms. above Lake George. It is a military post,
and has long been occupied as a plantation. The soil is fertile
shell loam, rising into considerable eminences. A road is open
from this place to Tampa Bay.
